Sharing Krishna Consciousness
ISKCON Rewari exists to share the timeless teachings of Lord Krishna, as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, with the people of Rewari and beyond. It currently operates as ISKCON Centre Rewari, a centre under ISKCON Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, serving devotees while progressing toward the construction of a permanent temple.
Our vision is a temple that serves as a centre for worship, spiritual education, culture and community service, on land that local tradition reveres as the sasural of Lord Balaram Himself.
How We Began
What began as small gatherings for kirtan and satsang in Rewari has grown into ISKCON Centre Rewari, a dedicated community committed to spreading Krishna consciousness, currently running as a centre and progressing toward building a new temple, a journey marked by the Shilanyasa Mahotsav, the foundation stone ceremony held here.

Carrying Forward Srila Prabhupada’s Mission
ISKCON Rewari is affiliated with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), founded in 1966 in New York City by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Acting on the instruction of his own spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada carried the teachings of Lord Krishna and the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition from India to the rest of the world, establishing temples, publishing translations of sacred texts including the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, and inspiring a global movement of devotional practice that continues today in over 100 countries.
Every ISKCON temple, including ours, follows the same foundational practices Srila Prabhupada taught: chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, deity worship, study of Vaishnava scripture, prasadam (sanctified food) distribution, and service to the community, all offered in a spirit of love and devotion to Krishna.
Rewari: Sasural of Lord Balaram
Rewari's own district records and Haryana heritage tradition hold that this very town was given in dowry when Rewati, daughter of King Rewat, was married to Lord Balaram, the elder brother of Lord Krishna.
Over centuries, “Rewa-Wadi” became “Rewari.” It is fitting that a temple to Krishna and Balaram now rises on their family's own land.
